The Weiner Law Firm Files FMLA Action Against The Longstreet Clinic

Posted by Andrew Weiner | Mar 21, 2018 | 0 Comments

On January 18, 2018, The Weiner Law Firm LLC, on behalf of its client Robbie Smallwood, filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against The Longstreet Clinic.  According to the lawsuit, The Longstreet Clinic violated the Family and Medical Leave Act when it discharged her in retaliation for her attempt to exercise her rights under the FMLA.  Ms. Smallwood alleges in her Complaint that she stood in loco parentis to her three grandchildren and requested FMLA leave to care for her grandchildren.  She further alleges that her supervisor called her and told her that she would have to quit her job because she did not qualify for FMLA leave, which was not true.  The case is Smallwood v. The Longstreet Clinic, P.C., Civil Action Number 2:18-cv-00005-RWS-JCF in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
